“Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.” ~ Denis Waitley
I have been trying very hard to maintain the healthy lifestyle since I finished the Clean 9 over three weeks ago. It’s been difficult to keep up with eating healthier especially when I am surrounded with a lot of chocolates and biscuits at work. We just got back from a weekend in Bradford meeting some family and attending a wedding reception where there’s bound to be lots of cake and unhealthy food. We did indulge and treat ourselves with some cake and promised to be even more conscious of our food content this coming week. I do love to enjoy some chocolates from time to time and have now switched to eating 70% dark chocolate which is essentially healthier. I have reduced the portions of my meals and aiming to reduce them even more. Sometimes, I have the
I do love to enjoy some chocolates from time to time and have now switched to eating dark chocolate which is essentially healthier. I have reduced the portions of my meals and aiming to reduce them even more. Sometimes, I have the Forever Lite Ultra with Aminotein – Vanilla for lunch. I blend the shake with blueberries, strawberries, milk, water and yoghurt. I ensure not to finish the entire shake in one go and have a little bit every 10 to 15 minutes during my lunch break. To curb the cravings I take the Garcinia Plus supplements. These soft gel supplements contain chromium which contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels. In addition to all this I drink about 1.5 to 2 litres of water daily. Water aids in the loss of fat in the body. Water also prevents one from feeling lethargic and tired. I have noticed a vast difference in my skin and have to admit my face glows a lot more which is great as I need less makeup.
Exercise is crucial for weight loss and becoming healthier and proactive. I admit I haven’t been going to the gym regularly as I have had a manic couple of weeks. But just by eating healthier I find myself more active and doing lots more than I used to on a daily basis.
What I have found from the change in healthy and clean eating is that the more I deprive myself of chocolates and biscuits the more I craved it. So I decided to eat healthier regularly, reduce my meal portions and treat myself from time to time with a biscuit or a chocolate. Since I implemented that I found I could curb the cravings with much more ease and lose weight steadily.
I have a delicious and healthy flapjack recipe that I’d like to share with you. My cousin, Binny Shah-Patel is a food blogger and shares a lot of recipes which have been tried and tested by herself. She was awarded the best for food at the cosmopolitan blog awards 2015. She is incredibly talented and creative with her recipes and an aspiring blogger. When I initially came across the flapjack recipe I thought why not give it a try now as I have all the ingredients. So off I went and tried it and they turned out to be really yummy so I made them a couple of times since.
The recipe can be found at https://binnyskitchen.com/2016/03/16/healthy-flapjacks/ Do feel free to have a nosey at her other remarkable recipes.
